The planning sessions resulted in the call for an European day of action against military infrastructure on 14-15 November 2008, an E-mail-list for information sharing and the planning for actions against the NATO 60th anniversary summit in Strasbourg/Kehl in April 2009. A next opportunity for meeting and co-ordination is the European peace forum, during the ESF in Malmö on 17- 21 September 2008.

Europe is at war.

The bombs are not falling in Europe. They are falling several thousands of km away in Iraq and Afghanistan. But still war is waged from Europe. Europe serves as a launch pad for military interventions worldwide. The frameworks differ: NATO, EU, US coalition of the willing, UN. The targets also vary: Iraq, Afghani…

Update: report and pictures of the NATO GAME OVER-action

Through NATO, Europe is involved in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. European states train military forces for the NATO Response Force and due to NATO the US still maintains bases in Europe used for military interventions worldwide. During the Iraq war US soldiers deployed from their bases in Europe to the Persian Gulf. In Afghanistan NATO has taken the lead in the military occupation and a lot of European states have…

Belangrijk: moment-opname 15 oktober 2008

New Project: Mapping the troop deployment to Afghanistan and the military infrastructure involved in this war.
US President Obama announced to send 30000 extra US troops to Afghanistan and asks his NATO allies to do the same. Several countries announced already to send soldiers or will do at the Afghanistan Conference in London on 28th January 2010.

We want to make an overview of the European involvement in this war. We also try to map the political debate. Please contribute to this project!
